非常感谢你买 Brilliant People！希望孩子们会喜欢读，也希望你和他们一起亲子共读时能收获一段美好的时光。写这本书的时候，我家老大还很小。当时写它，是想把我们做父母的一些人生经验教给她，也希望等孩子们长大了，还能留着这份回忆。不过，直到好几年后小女儿出生、加上疫情期间那段挺难熬的日子，我才决定找非常棒的设计师 Sarah Pilkington 合作，把它正式做成一本绘本。最开始我只印了几本送给亲朋好友，毕竟这原本只是我送给两个女儿的一份礼物。但后来在大家的鼓励下，我决定再多印一些。作为小孩子的父母，我们其实很难想象，终有一天，能给他们的生存技能和应对这个世界的“工具”我们都给得差不多了。对我来说，写这本书就是想赋予她们选择的底气，去走属于自己的路。希望这本书也能带给你身边的孩子们（甚至大人！）同样的启发。

Thanks so much for buying Brilliant People. I hope your kids enjoy reading it and you enjoy reading it with them.I wrote it when my eldest daughter was little to try and help her to learn some life lessons from us as parents, and as something hopefully they can remember when they're older. But it wasn't till a good few years later when our youngest was born and the the difficult days of Covid that I decided to get it turned into a book, with an amazing designer, Sarah Pilkington.I only made a few copies for family and friends because really it was just a present for my girls. But after encouragement I've decided to print some more.It's hard to imagine as parents to younger children that one day we will have done much of what we can to give them the tools they'll need to navigate the world.This book was my way of trying to give them agency to make their own choices. I hope it will do too for the children in your life, and maybe some of the adults too!
